Warranty Policy

Limited Warranties

Zalman USA and any Zalman USA brand hardware products purchased in the United States come with limited 1-year warranties. Power supplies and SSDs come with 3-year limited warranties. The limited warranties cover defects in material and workmanship within the warranty period and they are further described below.

How long does limited warranty last?

Warranty period is indicated on the invoice or on the instruction manual. Zalman USA has the right to change availability of limited warranty at its own discretion and any changes will not be retroactive.

What is not covered by this limited warranty?

The limited warranty does not cover

Non-Zalman brand products and accessories.

Problems resulted from external causes such as accident, abuse, misuse, and/or problems with electrical power.

Any service not authorized by Zalman USA.

Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions

Failure to follow the product instructions and/or failure to perform preventive maintenance.

Problems caused by using accessories, parts, and/or components not supplied by Zalman.

Products with missing, altered Service Tags and/or serial numbers.

Shipping Costs

Customers assume all shipping costs to the Zalman USA RMA department, and we assume the cost in shipping back the replacement to the customers. All replacement/repaired products are shipped via UPS Ground or USPS service unless a rush is requested, and all upgraded shipping is to be paid by the customer prior to shipment.

Warranty

It is strongly recommended to contact our RMA department if you are unsure about our warranty policies and RMA protocols.

All parts (except refurbished items) come with a warranty against manufacturer defect or failure for a period of either one-year or three-year from the date of purchase. This warranty covers replacement or repair of the product, which is determined by availability, or vendor, and the time of purchase.

RMA

When you submit an online RMA request, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization Number for you to include with your return. You must return the products to us in their original or equivalent packaging, prepay shipping charges, and insure the shipment or accept the risk if the product is lost or damaged in shipment. We will cover the shipping cost of the repaired or replaced products being shipped back to you if you use an address in the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and U.S. possessions and territories). Otherwise, we will ship the product to you freight collect. Furthermore, Zalman USA does not cross-ship any products.

If we determine that the problem is not covered under this warranty, we will notify you and inform you of service alternatives that are available to you on a fee basis.

NOTE: Before you ship the product(s) to us, please make sure to back up the data on the hard drive(s) and any other storage device(s) in the product(s). Remove any confidential, proprietary, or personal information and removable media such as floppy disks, CDs, or PC Cards. We are not responsible for any of your confidential, proprietary, or personal information; lost or corrupted data; or damaged and/or lost removable media.

If you are in need of replacement parts;when you contact us, we will require a verifiable proof of purchase before shipping out the replacement parts. The product must be within the warranty period, but you may contact the RMA department if you wish to purchase the parts due to expired warranty.

What if I purchased an extended warranty contract?

If your extended warranty contract is with the Zalman USA, service will be provided to you under the terms of the service agreement.

How Zalman Tech fix your products?

We use new and refurbished parts made by various manufacturers in performing warranty repairs and in building replacement parts and systems. Refurbished parts and systems are parts of systems that have been returned to Zalman, some of which were never used by a customer.

All parts and systems are inspected and tested for quality. Replacement parts and systems are covered for the remaining periods of the limited warranty ofZalman products you purchased..

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE (OR JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION). ZALMAN TECH'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR MALFUNCTIONS AND DEFECTS IN HARDWARE IS LIMITED TO REPLACEMENT AS SET FOR THE IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT.

FOR CANADIAN CUSTOMERS, EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES CONTAINED IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT, ZALMAN TECH DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, FOR THE PRODUCT. FOR U.S. CUSTOMERS, ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN TIME TO THE TERM OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WILL APPLY AFTER THE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. THE PRODUCTS DAMAGESFOR NOT BEING AVAILABLE TO USEAND/OR LOST DATA AND/OR LOST PARTS; ZALMAN TECH'S LIABILITY WILL BE NO MORE THAN THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE CLAIM. THIS IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT FOR WHICH ZALMAN TECH IS RESPONSIBLE.

SOME STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
